Why the sudden switch to Amercan-English?

I wasn't specifically defending our use of the spelling "neighbor", merely saying that there is more to our method than just the British spelling.
By all means, file bug reports. This game has a lot of words and I am certainly no scholar of the written language.

I *am* the British-English spell-checker (or as others have pointed out, the Tolkien-English spell-checker, as he tended to mix his forms, depending on what he felt was more linguistically correct.) Please /bug any suspect words, as you're probably right. I look at a *lot* of words every Book.

All through my LotRO experience I have been impressed with the fact that Turbine have stuck to English-English spelling of words (just like Tolkien would have wanted) even going so far as to have English insults like "git" in the game.
All of a sudden I'm finding American-English spelling in the game like "neighbor" in the housing area.
Is this a deliberate switch on Turbine's part? Should the game remain Enlgish-English in language and spelling? Am I just a picky Ex-Pat?
We try our best to use "Tolkien English" in order to remain true to the source material. The Professor's usage of the English language was, at times, inconsistent with British English.
Some spellings that could be considered oversights are intentional as we go with the spelling Tolkien himself used. However, it does not hurt at all to report words that you think may have been written incorrectly - we are human and do make mistakes.
