Downloading and Installation
- Download the client at www.curse.com/client
- Run and install it like typical applications.
- During installation, you will be prompted if you want to have the client scan your interface folder for addons.
- The client may need to undergo an update before first use. It will automatically shutdown and install the latest update for you.
Managing your Addons
Scanning Addon Folders
- If you clicked yes to have the client scan your interface folder, then it will detect and install known addons
- In cases where the Client cannot identify an addon, it will alert you
- You can toggle scanning with the Configuration -> Addon Settings -> Scan Addons at Start option
- Detected addons are added to the client’s Addons list
Installing New Addons
- New addons can be installed in two manners:
- From the website using the Install via Curse Client buttons
- Your computer will launch the Curse Client if it is not running already
- From the client itself using the Find an Addon tab in the Addons section of the client
- The Get List button will refresh the list of addons you can install
- Install Selected will install the addons you select
- The Game box will let you filter results by game
- The search field will allow you to search the results
- You can also sort columns
Managing Addons
- In the Addons section of the client, there will be tabs for each game you have installed. Each game tab lists the installed addons
- The client will check addon information at launch and at periodic intervals when running.
- The list of addons displays the name, author, category, and installed/latest dates for each addon.
- The columns are sortable
- Click on an addon in your list to start managing it. You can hold down the control or shift keys to select multiple addons.
- Refresh – Refreshes the list of the addons
- Uninstall – Uninstalls the selected addons and removes them from your hard drive
- Update Addons – Launches a window where you can install the latest version
- The addon will automatically install the latest version for Premium users
- Check for Updates – Manually checks to see if your list of addons is up to date. Addons that are out of date will be marked with a visual marker. You can then sleect it and click the Update Addons button.
- Premium users will have their out of date addons updated automatically

- Recent news headlines from Curse are displayed
- Headlines, a synopsis, and links to the full story are provided
Menu Options
- Client – All actions pertaining to the client itself reside in this menu
- Login – brings up the login window
- Update Addons – Updates selected Addons
- Minimize – Closes the client to the taskbar
- Exit – Closes the client
- Configuration – Settings for the Client are located in this menu
- Game Directories – Set the directory for your games
- Addon Settings
- Scan Addons at Start – If checked, the client will scan your game directory for new addons whenever the client starts
- Auto-Update Addons (Premium users only) – If checked, your client will automatically update addons when new versions are released.
- Reinstall New Addons – If checked, the client will download the latest version of the addon when a new addon is detected.
- Run Client at Startup – If checked, the client will launch when Windows boots up
- Auto Login - If checked, the client will automatically log in the saved account settings
- Close Client on X - If checked, the client will exit when you click the x in the top right of the application (default behavior is to close the window, but still continue running in the system tray).
- Auto-Install Client Updates – If checked, your client will automatically update when a new version of the Curse Client is released. Note: you can de-select the option to prevent auto-updates. However, the old version will cease to function until you do update.
